Back In Time: is a surrealist visual representation of the present, past, and future. In my perspective, the ancient city is struggling to survive at the hands of its queen, facing a greater danger of modernization and globalization.
Many elements and symbols started from Zenobia's statue, the third-century queen of the Palmyrene Empire in Syria with her hand petting the burned city trying to protect it.
On the left side, you can see a spaceship from the future coming toward the city, referring to our ability to save our fading heritage and ruins, lying between a rooster and a chicken.
Throughout the ages, the chicken has been a sacrificial animal. As such, it signifies service to the greater good. On the other hand, the hen refers to courage and self-confidence, standing tall and proud on the top of the sink.
On the left side of the hen, there is a modern building drowning in the water with an electrical satellite, generating electricity which is causing the fire.
You can also notice the pink tree root crawling into the water connecting the whole picture with pink vines that give a sense of life, which is transforming into flowers representing hope in the mess.
On the bottom left, there is a tribal leader with a mountain and rocks that stand for the power of our connection with Mother Earth.
